Suruceni, Hîncu, Capriana Monasteries – a paradise in the middle of the Codrii
Monasteries are the spiritual treasure of our country. During the centuries moldovans build monasteries and churches as a fortress for their souls. Monasteries always used to be national and historic centers. Three of the Moldova’s monasteries are situated not far from Chisinau,(over 50km), both of them being located in the core of Codri.
The first monastery that is recommended to be visited is Hincu Monastery, founded in 1678, as a monastery for women. Nowadays the monastery is visited daily. People come here to admire the beauty of wonderful flowers, which are spread all over the territory, to pray in the magical winter and summer churches, and to taste the clearest spring water. |

The second monastery that should be visited is Capriana Monastery. It is a monastery only for men, which includes 3 churches: St.Nicolas Church, St. George Church and The Assumption of Virgin Marry Church, which is the oldest stone monastery preserved on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Passing through centuries of national history, Capriana still represents a symbol of faith and culture.
The third monastery is Suruceni Monastery for nuns founded in 1785.
Here you can admire a specific architecture of 2 churches, built in specific style. Also here you can enjoy the clearest air because the monastery is located near a lake surrounded by forests, |
