Tipova – learn history in a place full of legends!
Tipova - is a small village in the North of Moldova. At the first sight it is an ordinary village like many other villages in Moldova, but…
If one walks through the monastery yard, situated at the edge of a rock, above the Nistru river, and follows hardly noticeable path like a streamer, one will find oneself in a rocky monastery. Everything here breaths with history: the rooms gouged in walls many centuries ago, chairs situated at windows gouged in stone, through them you can admire the bright sky.
Walking down the rocks across the Nistru, you’ll see a huge canyon filled with bird songs; suddenly you’ll see the waterfalls…unbelievable beauty.
This place is full of legends. They say that mythological poet Orphey was buried here. Another legend says that Stefan the Great was wedded here with his wife Maria Voikita, and here she was buried.
Here you can also admire a unique panorama: going down the Nistru river, various forms of the relief such as rocks and high hills form falls. Highest of them have the height of 16 meters.
